Where can I get free moving boxes in Sarasota?

Free moving boxes can often be found at liquor and wine stores, grocery stores, office supply retailers and bookstores, which regularly discard sturdy boxes. Ask a manager when deliveries arrive and show up shortly after. Online sources such as Nextdoor, Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist free listings are also convenient.

Sarasota residents finishing moves often post box lots for free pickup, and Nextdoor can be especially active in HOA communities.

The trade-off with free boxes is inconsistency in size, condition and strength. Used boxes may have moisture damage or weakened walls. For fragile items, artwork and electronics, new double-walled boxes are worth the cost.
